Designed by Nicolas Dahan, this 250 m² family home is set within a vast pine forest, where architecture gently blends into the landscape rather than standing apart from it.
From the first steps on site, the boundary between outside and inside fades. There is no traditional entrance sequence, movement flows directly from nature into living spaces. This continuity is reinforced by a strong architectural gesture: floor and ceiling share the same proportions, creating a sense of visual balance where spaces feel open and uninterrupted.
Large sliding glass openings play a central role in the project. Generous floor-to-ceiling windows extend living spaces toward the forest and allow natural light to constantly reshape the interiors. The house remains open on all sides, offering a direct relationship with the surrounding trees throughout the day.
In this context, glazing becomes more than a technical element, it defines the way the house is experienced. The large-scale window allow smooth transitions between inside and outside, reinforcing the feeling that the forest is always present within the home.
Behind this lightness, a precise structure ensures stability. Glass walls support significant parts of the building, requiring careful engineering to balance openness with strength. Steel and concrete elements are discreetly integrated to anchor the architecture without disturbing its clarity.
Wood brings warmth and continuity to the project, with carefully detailed surfaces that emphasize simplicity and precision. The result is a calm, minimal structure where materials, light, and landscape work together as one.
In the Wooden Villa, architecture disappears in favor of experience, leaving space for light, air, and nature to define everyday life.
