Bassett Road

Bassett Road is a contemporary renovation and extension of a Victorian townhouse in Kensington, London, by Paul+O Architects. The design features a Vitrocsa 3001 guillotine window system that forms a complete glazed extension façade measuring 6.4 m wide by 4 m high. This large, vertical glazing floods the principal living spaces with natural light and creates a seamless visual link between the interior and the south-facing garden. The minimal profiles and motorised guillotine design reinterpret the traditional sash window on a grand scale, emphasising openness, light and spatial continuity within the modern extension.
